Adapter Sleeves
An adapter sleeve mounts taper bore bearings — self-aligning ball bearings and spherical roller bearings — onto a plain shaft without machining a shoulder, so fitting and replacement are quick and shaft production costs are lower. It is used together with a lock nut and lock washer.
